For many parents, this could also be when they decide to adopt a child into their life and make it wholesome. A child can turn your life in any way possible and there is no denying that. Even before they come into your life, they begin altering your behavior and your character by a great leap. You cannot also deny the fact that the kids only make you and your spouse’s life better.
Parenting Over the Years
We have to admit that our parenting styles have changed over the years.
Our parents raised us differently. But in this generation, we parents believe
in a few facts and will raise our kids differently. Many factors have
contributed to this change in approach. Let us discuss these:
- Parents are becoming more attentive: We belong to the generation when our parents went to work leaving us to ourselves. Many kids back then had no one at home to cry to or get support from. Because of the pandemic, parents have started spending more time with their kids. They have started noticing that their kids also need some attention. They have started knowing when their toddler cries, what are his triggers, and so forth.
- Putting the Fire Out: Parents have also understood that they can try to calm their child even before he bursts out. This is only possible because they are spending more time at home with their family.
- No Time in Hand: Parents have this problem while raising a child- lack of time for the kids. They might have wanted to give more time to their child. But you may not get what you desire! So, even today, every parent secretly wants to spend more time. Though for a short while many parents had time during the pandemic, it is not the case now!
- Very Little Help: We have moved on from a joint family set-up to a nuclear family style. This has caused a lot of stress in our relationships. Nothing matches the warm hug of the grandma when you feel the world around you collapsing.
